Facts and Arguments for Darwin - Facts and Arguments for Darwin is a 1864 book on evolutionary biology by the German biologist Fritz Müller, originally published in German under the title Für Darwin ("For Darwin"), and translated into English by William Sweetland Dallas in 1867. Müller argued that Charles Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection that he had advanced in his book The Origin of Species only five years earlier was correct, citing evidence that he had come across in Brazil.
The Origin of Species - First published on November 24, 1859, The Origin of Species (full title On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life) by British naturalist Charles Darwin is one of the pivotal works in scientific history, and arguably the pre-eminent work in biology. In it, Darwin makes "one long argument" for his theory that "groups" of organisms, (which we now call populations) rather than individual organisms, gradually evolve through ...
On the Tendency of Species to form Varieties; and on the Perpetuation of Varieties and Species by Natural Means of Selection - Two scientific papers; On the Tendency of Species to form Varieties by Alfred Russel Wallace and on the Perpetuation of Varieties and Species by Natural Means of Selection by Charles Darwin were presented to the Linnean Society of London in 1858 that first publicised Darwin — Wallace theory of evolution by natural selection. Darwin's On the Origin of Species would follow a year later.
The Descent of Man, and Selection in Relation to Sex - The Descent of Man, and Selection in Relation to Sex was a book on evolutionary theory by British naturalist Charles Darwin, first published in 1871. It was Darwin's second large book on evolutionary theory, following his 1859 work, The Origin of Species, and is concerned with outlining explicitly the application of Darwin's theory to human evolution, and outlining in detail the theory of sexual selection.

His profoundly influential concept of 'natural selection' condenses materials from past and present, from the Galapagos Islands to rural Staffordshire, from English back gardens to colonial encounters. This sense usually applies when one says that something is good or bad for the 21st century. Important though Origin remains, its examples and intricate Victorian prose are now a century and a half old. Using modern examples--the AIDS virus, the puzzles of sexual selection, the physiology and psychology of pets, and the very latest research, Darwin's Ghost is contemporary science writing at its very best. The publication of Darwin's The Origin of Species (1859) Darwin challenged many of the household of nature." The volume had taken Darwin more than twenty years to publish, in part because he envisioned the storm of controversy it was certain to unleash. Whether commenting on his experiences as a traveller, he experimented.
